Update: May 8th
Yarn Dance will be closed from Sunday, May 26th through Friday, May 31st for remodeling.  This remodel will afford us some additional space and a new layout.  Please check the calendar to see how this impacts classess & knit/crochet alongs.  We are very excited to bring you a whole new store & we think you will be very pleased with the changes!

June classes are posted.

May Project & A Movie - There will not be a specific project required this month, however, a minimum $10.00 purchase on movie day is required.  We will be watching Message in a Bottle.

Update: April 15th
We now carry Moonshine by Juniper Moon Farm!  One hank is 197 yards for a $15.00 value.  It is 40% Wool, 40% Alpaca, & 20% Silk.  Check out the pattern book that is full of terrific patterns to accompany the Moonshine yarn.

Mona Lisa Smile & a Project on April 27th from 10:30am - 1:30pm!  Seats are limited to 10 participants.  Project kits will go on sale at 10:00am. Project kit purchase required.  You will have your choice of two projects.  The project kits will be assembled for purchase as is...no swapping out of patterns or yarns.

The last 7 months have just flown by...it's hard to believe that it's April and Spring is upon us.  It could be because it doesn't feel as though spring is upon us with all this snow falling!  Over the last 7 months we have made changes that benefit the business aspects of Yarn Dance while keeping our customers at the center of everything we do.  These changes support the future of Yarn Dance.  Folks have asked us, "Are there more changes coming?"  The answer is yes...as with anything else in life change can be good, it can be healthy...if you aren't changing, you aren't growing.  Here is what we can promise...as any change occurs we will weigh heavily the impact of that change on our customers before making a decision.

As a final update today...this may feel like a change but it shouldn't :-)  Consider it more the reinforcement of copyright laws and pattern ettiquette.  From time to time we witness the exchange of patterns during knit/crochet alongs.  You can liken this to pirating music or movies.  Google 'pirating movies' and you will see that there are stiff penalties which include prison time.  Clearly I am exaggerating here to make a point...the point is that swapping patterns or copying patterns for one another in a friendly environment seems harmless but it is in fact stealing.  The question arises...what if the patterns we are exchanging are free? That isn't okay either...many times free pattern offerings are intended to drive us to a site essentially for purposes of advertising. Going forward we have a zero tolerance policy around the exchange of patterns without purchase.  It is our responsibility to the profession to honor all of the players that work hard to bring us great ideas and to make a living doing it.

Dream in Color is in the Building!
With the exception of a few items on back order our Dream in Color line has arrived.  It is being met with a positive response.  We have received feedback about the beautiful colorways.  The Dream in Color patterns are terrific too!

Yarn Dance presently carries the following Dream in Color:
Smooshy with Cashmere - luscious blend of luxury fibers, Smooshy with Cashmere is opulence in a skein. The smooth, plied base, combined with our unique dyeing process, gives Smooshy with Cashmere its deep and lushly-shaded tones. And, 20% cashmere makes this yarn divinely next-to-skin soft, while 10% nylon lends a durability that means Smooshy with Cashmere is equally at home in socks and open, airy lacework.

70% superwash merino, 20% cashmere, 10% nylon
4 oz. & 400 yds.
7.5 – 9 sts. inch
U.S. 0 to 2 needles

Classy - 100% superwash merino base and just the right amount of twist, Classy is the quintessential worsted-weight yarn. The fiber content, combined with our unique dyeing process, gives Classy its deep and lushly-shaded tones, while the plied texture lends crisp stitch definition to everything from lace to cables.

100% superwash merino wool
4 oz. & 250 yds
4 – 4.5 sts per inch
U.S. 7 to 8 needles

Wisp - silk and merino make this lace-weight yarn simply sublime to work with and decadently divine to wear. The fiber content, combined with our unique dyeing process, gives Wisp its deep and lushly-shaded tones. Wisp’s silk imparts a subtle sheen while its merino lends just a hint of halo, bringing finished garments — from intricate lacework to basic stockinette — a gossamer-like texture and an elegant drape.

50% silk, 50% merino wool
2 oz. & 550 yds.
